Since xxdiff is no longer in the tree and kdiff3 doesn't work on my amd64 box, I started out a thread in the forums, the URL of which is above. A developer told me about beediff, but cfg-update does not yet support it. Can beediff support be added to cfg-update, please? Currently I have no GUI available for cfg-update Reproducible: Always
I don't really use cfg-update myself, but here is my attempt, just reopen the bug if this doesn't work for you. +*cfg-update-1.8.2-r2 (15 Feb 2010) + + 15 Feb 2010; Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> + +cfg-update-1.8.2-r2.ebuild, + +files/cfg-update-1.8.2-xxdiff-to-beediff.patch: + Replace xxdiff with beediff wrt #303199. Replace USE="gnome" with USE="X" + wrt #300344.
Reopen, the patch is incomplete
This package has no maintainer and many open bugs. So it will be removed from tree in 30 days.
Created attachment 288509 [details] updated cfg-update ebuild I'm contemplating taking over this one. For anybody following who uses this feel free to give the attached ebuild a try and let me know if you have any issues. It attempts to address the beediff issues and merges in the 1.8.2-r2 patches from portage. It also defaults to meld (which I have more personal experience with so I'd prefer those without a preference to use it since I'll be fielding their issues). If nobody else speaks up and there aren't any serious issues I'm not considering I'll commit this and take over maintainership.
Ok, the original bug that was hijacked with the removal request has been fixed. I'm taking over maintenance of this one, so removal is unnecessary. I don't want to mess up treecleaner's queue - so let me know if I should just resolve this WONTFIX/RESOLVED/OBSOLETE/etc, or let you clean it up.
Feel free to handle this bug as it suits you
Ok, as such I think this is resolved. Thanks.
