i've found a little bug in bash (i'm using currently stable 4.0-p35) and sent the report to bashbug ML: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-bash/2010-01/msg00135.html, than Chet Ramey sent a patch for it attached here: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-bash/2010-01/msg00137.html 

I've tested it and it works, so maybe it is possible to attach this patch to ebuild?

Thanks for reporting this fix, assigning to gentoo base-system team who will decide if they want to apply it or wait for upstream.

should be fixed in current bash-4.1_p7 stable
