Description Jeremy Murphy 2010-01-31 12:43:29 UTC
If you have a molecule in the work area, for example, clicking and dragging on empty space rotates the molecule, whereas clicking and dragging on an atom (object) will move the atom. On amd64 but not x86, clicking on an atom is the same as clicking on empty space. It is not possible to interact with objects in the pseudo-3D workspace.

I've seen the same bug in a demo that came with an OpenGL programming text book, so either this is the same bug (I'm not sure of the specifics), or... there might be a bug in Mesa.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install avogadro on amd64 platform
2. Draw an atom or load a molecule
3. Try to interact with atoms

Actual Results:
It's like the atoms aren't there, you can't interact with them.

Expected Results:
You can interact with the atoms.

Looks like this was actually a bug in Mesa or something, as the same bug magically vanished in multiple programs at once.
