After compiling firefox 3.6 and xulrunner 1.9.2-r1 with the newly added xulrunner USElag, I noticed that libnotify was still not used in KDE 4. Download notifications and similar where still displayed using the XUL notification. After remerging both packages with +gnome (which I usually have disabled) the notifications started working. Can anybody reproduce this, and if so: should the flag be marked as a dependency / the bug reported upstream? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Compile firefox/xulrunner with +libnotify -gnome 2. I can confirm it: without gnome useflag libnotify didn't work with my KDE4, and with this useflag - it works!

If anyone is interested in testing xulrunner-2.0_rc1 and firefox-4.0_rc1 it is in the mozilla overlay. I have done extensive testing with libnotify and have had no issues with current builds.
Indeed, I just emerged it, the libnotify-flag seems to work as expceted.
Fixed in xulrunner-2.0/firefox-4.0-r1.
