Description Xake 2010-01-24 10:18:16 UTC
I think the "New bug" guide should advice people if they encounter crashes to post stack-traces, along with a link to http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on New in the bottom of the page.
2. Make a choice.

Actual Results:
There is examples of some comments but nowhere any info on how you can collect a stack-trace.

Expected Results:
There should be all info needed to post a meaningful bugreport.

I have seen other bugzillas have it, but I do not know if it is a feature of bugzilla or a copy-past from a location they do, but maybe have a standard comment for the bugwrangler they can post for crashers without backtraces/stacktraces when they reassing the bug that the handling of the bug can be speed up by posting a backtrace/sacktrace along with a link to the guide.

fyi, I've updated the "select product" page on Bugzilla, including a link to the backtraces documentation. Maybe this fulfills your request already?

Yeah, I guess it does.
