It would be good if this were to be added to portage for two reasons: 1) It has had various bug fixes and one compelling new feature added (GMail support) 2) It would pave the way for =Mail-IMAPClient-3* to be keyworded stable (2.2.9 appears to have some bugs which make it awkward to use generally) Fortunately, this version of imapsync continues to be compatible with Mail-IMAPClient-2.2.9, by the author's own admission. It can also be used with >=Mail-IMAPClient-3.0.19. I've attached a patch containing a (hopefully legal) change to the RDEPEND declaration which would allow it to be used with either. Copying in perl herd as the above will perhaps be more meaningful to its members.
Created attachment 217302 [details, diff] Patch to amend RDEPEND as appropriate for 1.286 release
Why did you stop at 1.286 and not 1.303?
Because I'm a fool and read only the freshmeat page instead of going to the project homepage as I should have done! Updating summary ... It does raise the question as to whether Mail-IMAPClient-3.0.19 remains the earliest compatible version in the 3.x series. The ChangeLog mentions Mail-IMAPClient-3.19 for 1.287 in a manner which suggests that this was the version tested with (or targetted by) imapsync at the time. Perhaps the RDEPEND proposal should be amended similarly. Any thoughts on that, Torsten?
I've added imapsync-1.303. It depends on dev-perl/Mail-IMAPClient as any version in the tree should work. Thanks. Please tell me, if there is any problem with this version or combination.
