i used wget and downloaded it from http://www.fr3nd.net/nis/nis.tar.gz and it worked this time. (sorry). i originally must have gotten it frmo a mirror.
I got the same error, and grabbed the file manually from www.fr3nd.net as well. It seems like it didn't even attempt to get it in the first place. Maybe an older version of the ebuild downloads it, and the new ebuild doesn't update it since it finds it in distfiles already?
vapier I'm getting this same problem. I've removed the downloaded file only to have it re-downloaded and the MD5 mismatch. It looks like the gentoo distfile mirrors have an old copy of that nis file. Can you manually drop in the new one or remove the old one?
afaik the mirror's will get to it eventually ...
but we could try making someone do it manually
Created attachment 18654 [details] the correct file.
Looks like the right file is on the mirrors now. Problem will be people having to delete the file from the old version before this otherwise they'll think that our digest is wrong.
I'm sure this bug can be closed now.
