Unlike most free software for creating 3D models (such as the famous application Blender) it does not focus on the artistic aspects of 3D modelling but instead on the CAD aspects. Thus it might be the application you are looking for when you are planning to create 3D models of machine parts but pretty sure is not what you are looking for when you are more interested in creating computer-animated movies.

This needs a dependency on dev-cpp/eigen (for the 2010.05 version at least) and possibly some more things I already had installed..

It seems like the file 
openscad-2010.01.src.tar.gz
has been removed. 

I think we need a version bump.

I updated the ebuild for openscad, this is my first ebuild so tell me 
if I have made some errors, buts its works fine for me.

Committed to CVS with package mask during initial testing period.  OpenCSG has also been added.
