I don't know what to do about the www-client/seamonkey-bin stuff as I'm not really interested in the binary package.

This now becomes even more urgent. Upstream officially discontinued seamonkey-1 and also wrote about known unfixed security vulnerabilities. See this news post for reference:

are you sure acroread's plug-in doesn't work on seamonkey-2 ? this is a binary only package, and doesn't need anything for building

I'm unable to test that as I have no x86 machine available at the moment. I'd appreciate if anybody could test the plugin with seamonkey-2 on x86 and report his results in this bug.
