This ebuild, like the package itself, is a slight modification of media-video/flvstreamer-1.9. However, rtmpdump includes additional features, and is used by the latest version of youtube-dl.

If I understand correctly, flvstreamer is rtmpdump with "encrypted rtmp and swf verification support removed", so I'm not sure why flvstreamer is even needed.

Is there a way to find flvstreamer ebuild's maintainer so he could be contacted?

tweak to Jan Buecken's ebuild

Thanks, Jan. With the change from streams to rtmpgw, we can lift the block against flvstreamer. Not that anybody would be likely to install both, but the only reason for the block was the file collision. Also, there are manpages in the new version.

ebuild for rtmpdump-2.2d

New ebuild for rtmpdump-2.2d:
- Added sys-libs/zlib dependency
- Added ssl flag, and gnutls/polarssl as options to use instead of openssl
  (based on net-misc/curl-7.20.1 ebuild)
- Took the fix for bug #318353 from the flvstreamer ebuild

Note: I did not test with gnutls and polarssl
