Description Luca Lesinigo 2010-01-05 13:57:46 UTC
The current stable version of bonnie++ (1.93c) does not compile correctly on a fresh and updated install of gentoo/hardened on amd64.

bonnie++-1.96 has been released last summer (see url) and is in portage since november. It does compile and run fine on the tested gentoo/hardened amd64 system - I won't be looking in 1.93c again and don't know what the problem was with that.

I suggest stabilization of the new version and removal of the older unstable ones (1.95 so far) since there's no point in using them. All of the bonnie++ ebuilds currently in portage are "experimental releases" upstream, but it's approaching stabilization as 2.00 (again, see included url).

If there isn't any regression, I'd remove 1.93c as well since it doesn't even compile under some circumstances.

Thanks.
