Description Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-01-04 19:20:57 UTC
dev-util/intltool-0.40.6-r1 fails to handle python multiline qoutes and the following patch fixes that: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~intltool/intltool/trunk/revision/697

Could you add this patch to the tree (or give me Ok to commit that) or bump intltool as bug 299523 requests. Either solution is good, but we need this patch to avoid tests failures in gajim.
Comment 1 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-01-05 15:48:26 UTC
is bug #295819 somehow related ?
Comment 2 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-01-05 19:18:10 UTC
No, but if you want to fix that bug the patch is available upstream too:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~intltool/intltool/trunk/revision/696

btw, probably you'll want to hear answer too:

Comment 3 Romain Perier (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-01-06 09:50:37 UTC
Patches seem to be interesting, indeed.
btw, intltool-0.41 looks like a development release (not stab)
Comment 4 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-01-06 22:20:58 UTC
the management of intltool has been less than optimal since it moved to launchpad, but the fix sounds interesting. Let's include it in a r2.

gajim build.log with FEATURES=test and without this patch

As requested by mrpouet on IRC gajim build.log (with failures) attached. BTW note, that to reproduce this issue you need unstable gettext-0.17-r1 since stable had some bug too ;)
Comment 6 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-02-17 22:43:24 UTC
0.41.0 is in Portage (including this patch) but masked for testing, so please
test it.

package list

Samuli, I've rebuilt packages in attached list and so far only pidgin failed (and fixed). pidgin failure should not be reproducible in any of the package in the tree so I think it's quite safe to unask it.
