Description Timothy Miller 2009-12-30 21:01:55 UTC
When running sensors-detect (part of the lm_sensors package), I see the following errors:

Lastly, we can probe the I2C/SMBus adapters for connected hardware
monitoring devices. This is the most risky part, and while it works
reasonably well on most systems, it has been reported to cause trouble
on some systems.
Do you want to probe the I2C/SMBus adapters now? (YES/no):
Using driver `i2c-i801' for device 0000:00:1f.3: Intel ICH9
Module i2c-dev loaded successfully.

which version of lm_sensors?
Comment 2 Timothy Miller 2010-01-02 15:04:31 UTC
Oops. That was a dumb oversight on my part. :)

sys-apps/lm_sensors-3.1.1
Comment 3 Nikoli 2010-01-12 17:13:14 UTC
Confirm, with latest stable kernel only version 3 compiles.
Comment 4 Thilo Bangert (RETIRED) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-02-15 10:17:31 UTC
i think this is related to recent sysfs changes. it is possibly fixed in lm_sensors-3.1.2. could i get you to try that version? it was committed to the tree a couple minutes ago.

thanks
Comment 5 Jeremy Murphy 2010-04-02 10:22:42 UTC
I just gave this a test using lm_sensors-3.1.2 and it worked fine. The script identifies itself as revision 5818.

Timothy, any luck?
Comment 6 Timothy Miller 2010-04-02 13:35:07 UTC
I reran sensors-detect, and I don't see any error messages.

Thanks!
Comment 7 Thilo Bangert (RETIRED) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-05-26 18:56:35 UTC
fixed in 3.1.2.

thanks
