Can you please add an ebuild for this great application? I don't know about ebuilds, so I cannot help. Thanks in advance. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Apparently, GPL-V3 software. They don't provide .tar.gz/snapshot of their source code, only pre-compiled builds. Source code is available in their svn repo [1], and browsable through their redmine website [2]. Builds are browsable here at [3]. Yeah! They even provide an unrar blob in their builds ! Ebuild can be found in this overlay - http://gentoo-overlays.zugaina.org/ub0rlay/net-misc.html.en#jDownloader
Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Markos. Is there any permanent and reliable link for this package so one can make an ebuild, or do we have to put RESTRICT=fetch?
can someone update the ebuild? it doesn't work for me and my skills aren't good enough to fix it. Thanks in advance. :)
The current source of the problem (at least a few days ago) is that there's nothing to download at all!! The team is lacking they own webservers (or may be it's a hobby to upload the file to a non-free file hosting service). You should try Retriever also.
There also exists a subversion-server. http://svn.jdownloader.org/projects/show/jd is it possible to create a -9999.ebuild (don't know what this kind of ebuild is named) with this?
Created attachment 286939 [details] jdownloader-0.9 ebuild
Created attachment 286941 [details] jDownloader launcher script File to put in the files/ ebuild directory.
You will find above an ebuild I have merged from the two existing you can find on different overlays. It is not perfect yet (still have problems getting the menu entry in GNOME), but it works well here, just launch jDownloader.
Do someone have an updated ebuild?
Hi Is there someone still interested in adding this software to Portage? Please let us know. Thank.
(In reply to Patrice Clement from comment #12) > Is there someone still interested in adding this software to Portage? Please > let us know. Thank. Hello Patrice, yes, I'd still like to see this in the portage tree. I'm using it now and then and currently run it from a folder where I unzipped it once.
I gave up trying to use an ebuild with jDownloader. Since it wants updates itself and all the modules so frequently I just installed it to a directory in my users home directory and allow it to auto-update itself.

If this is the case, then installing and managing jDownloader via Portage makes no sense.
I'm also using jd from a directory where it installed..
Alright. Thank you all for reporting back. Sorry janis but we won't add jDownloader to Portage then since it seems to be able to self-update and this feature will clash with the PM.
