if i have installed xorg-server-1.6.5-r1, slim uses 100% CPU time in one processor core. Downgrading xorg-server to 1.6.3.901-r2 solves the problem Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Upgrade xorg-server to last stable version 1.6.5-r1 2.Reboot the system 3.Launch slim with /etc/init.d/xdm start Actual Results: slim uses 100% CPU time Expected Results: slim not using 100% CPU time
not a problem here with the same version. Sorry, don't know how to reproduce.

Well, reproducing this is really easy - log on via xdm, then Ctrl+Alt+F1, Alt+F7, Ctrl+Alt+F1 and enjoy your CPU benchmark. If you use the 9999 "live" version from devnull overlay, slim is pretty much usable minus Bug 261359. This bug, inability to zap X server etc. is solved. Considering last commit has been back in Nov. 09 or so, you could as well make a snapshot incl. the patches from devnull overlay and provide something less broken in the tree.
Currently the problem has dissapeared. I have installed now to xorg-server-1.6.5-r1 and slim-1.3.1-r5 and the problem seems solved. Maybe slim-1.3.1-r5 or other package update has solved the problem.
new snapshot (bug 306961) is in the tree, marking this as resolved.
