Description Vladimir 2009-12-07 22:44:44 UTC
When I try to save an image from my document (either in .doc or .odt formats) to disk, Openoffice-3.1.1 gives a message that an unexpected error has appeared and shows the list of files that will be recovered after restart of OpenOffice Writer.
No image is saved to disk.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update from OpenOffice-3.1.0 to OpenOffice-3.1.1
2. Open a document containing some pictures in its body.
3. Press the right mouse button on one of those images.
4. Choose "Save the images..."

Actual Results:
OpenOffice Writer stops its work after I try to save an image from my document on the disk.

Expected Results:
It should save the picture I want to save on the disk and continue working.

What's the type of those images ?
Did you tried revdep-rebuild already ?

1. I'm not sure about the type of this image in .doc file, but when I saved this document in .odt format and opened as a .zip-archive (using an archiver program) this image was there in PNG format.
2. I tried revdep-rebuild, but it told that everything was fine in my system - there were no broken dependencies.

Is this bug still valid for you? Especially: Could you try LibreOffice instead?

Looks like I cannot reproduce this bug with OpenOffice-3.2.1
Instead, there are such cases, where there is no "Save the images..." menu item at all. I have some documents with several images inside. And some of those images have the above menu item while the others don't. But this seems to be the separate issue, isn't it?

It definitely is ;-) Please try with libreoffice 3.3 and if it's still there, open a new bug. Thanks for reporting back!
