Created attachment 24102 [details] Ebuild Update: desklet-rss is now desklet-rssgrab. Updated 0.4 ebuild.
Nearly posted a new bug, got caught out by the change of package name  Anyway, I have two patches to (a) fix the GUI, (b) add per-feed icons, (c) brand it for Gentoo (colours and default feed). I've upstreamed the non-branding ones, but who knows :) Example of branding at http://home.jesus.ox.ac.uk/~ecatmur/gentoo/screenshots/desklet-rssgrab-0.4.png - less than ideal background, but you get the picture. Also, ebuild to apply patches inside src_install().

Make sure to update this to 0.6 at some point.
0.6.2 has just been added.
You might want to commit the other two (which are probably old as well, but they work; worry about bumping later). I just fixed dependencies on #49053 and #49054, DisplayConstraints and RDGBorder. The rss-grab desklet uses these for borders in some of its displays. I must have misdone the dependencies oh so long ago. . .
Hi John, you didn't miss any dependencies, don't worry! I'm excluding two of the rss displays for the minute, until I figure out the best way to add the RDGBorder and the DisplayConstraints sensors. Don't worry, I'll get to them. Thanks for your work here.
This seems to be the correct place for this. Any chance we can have the background fix back? As of now, unchecking the "show this part" box on the backgrounds dialogue (on AMD64 at least, someone please confirm elsewhere) does *not* make the background go transparent. I know for a fact that this worked on x86 with Ed Catmur's ebuild and patches for 0.4.
I can confirm that reverting to Ed's 0.4 ebuild restores the transparent background behaviour and allows the use of custom logos once more. This is on AMD64.
Created attachment 36989 [details, diff] Updated patch for __init__.py for 0.6.2 This updated patch works with 0.6.2 and in conjunction with the other (still applies cleanly with 0.6.2) restores background transparency. Confirmed as working on AMD64. Please add this patch, add ~amd64 to keywords and test on x86 and ppc. The other patch, for psi.display, is still required.
Robert, that all belongs in a _new_ bug.
Really? It's the same patch as posted by Ed, it's just been updated to work with 0.6.2. I can add ~amd64 myself if you like, but the patches would be nice, as they are quite important (at least for me).

This ebuild is now obsolete.
