The same bug on my system.
This should not happen. I suspect an environment problem. Can you make sure you use `su -` to become root, disable ccache and try again? If it fails again please attach the environment file to this bug. This should be located at /var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/qt-assistant-4.6.0/temp/environment

If I use `su -` to become root, it emerges fine. And ccache is innocent. But I use `sudo sux -` to become root, then emerge fails with or without ccache.The environment files are the same for both emerges. I wonder if the problem is x11-misc/sux, since all other packages emerges fine with sux. I am keeping the bug open.
But I wont keep it open sudo sux - is not a valid way to become su and be sure that everything is running smoothly. Especially sudo usage with package manager should be avoided If you think that sux has problems with authentication and user permissions please contact upstream or open a new bug about it Thanks
