1.9.2 isn't even in the tree. Maybe it's in an overlay somewhere, but then you forgot to tell. I will assume this is a version bump request.
i think there is no need to, beceause nearly no application works with 1.9.4 so after upgrading to the new jack, the most applications (even QJackCtl) does not work anymore.
(In reply to comment #3) hmmm... the CVS version of QJackCtl from the proaudio overlay works, ardour-2.8.2 works. That's what I've tested.

My take on jack 1.9.7, tested on x86 and amd64. Although jack can require ffado and freebob, these are only in pro-audio overlay tree and I omitted those USE flags and deps for this submission compared to what's in my overlay. No offense to this ebuild and pro-audio contributions but they fail multilib-strict and the USE flags are somewhat confusing in that regard IMHO.
