Wesnoth 1.8 beta 1 was released November 10 2009 and it would be wonderful to have it in portage. 

The changes from 1.6 to 1.8 are rather the extensive results of the development cycle which began somewhen around may 2009 and which including the results of this years Google Summer of Code (five successful projects).

Wesnoth 1.7.10 ebuild

Created ebuild (so this invalidates that resolved duplicate resolution, right?) from ebuild in stable tree:
-updated dependecies
-disabled strict compilation
-changed preferences folder to .wesnoth1.7

Tested only the build with USE=nls, so use on your own risk for now.

It would be great to get this in Sunrise. Thanks!
