Description Matthew R Powell 2003-09-22 21:38:22 UTC
I would like to propose an option to portage.

I have a somewhat unreliable cable connection, and I have often started a large
installation involing many packages, and then left the machine unnattended. I
would then return, only to find that the merge had failed do to my connection dying.

To get around this, I have been using `emerge -f ebuild && emerge ebuild` to
make sure all of the packages I need are on the local machine before I leave it
alone.

Something like `emerge --fetchfirst ebuild` might make a nice addition to portage.

Reproducible: Always
