New package added with qt-4.6.0_rc1. Please test with x11-libs/qt-demo.
Adding all arches that have x11-libs/qt-core but not x11-libs/qt-demo. Note that there is currently no hurry to keyword as long as there are no packages in the tree that depend on it.
* QA Notice: USE Flag 'iconv' not in IUSE for x11-libs/qt-multimedia-4.6.0_rc1 besides that, it seems it has an automagic on alsa-lib, and I can't get it detect any oss device on FreeBSD (maybe its not supported?).
There currently is only an alsa backend, so you are correct, this is not (yet) supported on BSD. It is Linux only for now. We need to add the alsa-lib dependency to the ebuild. Removing bsd from CC list.
How can we test this?
There are some examples here: http://doc.trolltech.com/4.6/examples-multimedia.html Ignore the last two since they are for the qt-phonon module, which has nothing to do with qt-multimedia.
16 Jan 2010; Ben de Groot <yngwin@gentoo.org> qt-multimedia-4.6.0-r1.ebuild: Adding alsa-lib dependency, adding iconv useflag, dropping non-linux keywords (bug 293671).
PyQt4-4.7 has a multimedia useflag which pulls in this package. So I have added appropriate p.use.mask entries in profiles. You can remove the entry for your arch when you keyword this.

And yes, qt-multimedia/qt-demo works on MacOS, as it does on ALSA-capable systems as well as on Windows. Additionally you need to guard the alsa-lib dependency like so: !aqua? ( media-libs/alsa-lib ) Thanks!
(In reply to comment #8) Thanks! Fixed now. I'm sorry that my decision was based on incomplete information.

arm done
PPC has already marked this.

Marked ~hppa.
MIPS? :)
(In reply to comment #15) > MIPS? :) mips apparently doesn't care. Closing for now, they can add the keyword later if they want.
