When logging into wdm, it restarts X and requires me to login again. The second time seems to work. /var/log/messages show this error during that login event. Sorry for the slow response, November has been a very busy month... Please post additional information if you're still interested in debugging this weird conflict between wdm and agetty: * emerge -pv wdm * emerge -pv util-linux * emerge --info
Here is the information request. I should note, that I have installed slim and do not experience the issue. X starts on tty7 as it should. However wdm still wants to control tty2. /etc/conf.d/xdm has this variable set for checking a specific terminal. CHECKVT=7 I was checking Bug #290034 and its issues could be related to this. I have the same issue as well. It maybe because wdm is running on tty2 which is not confirmed by anyone else in that ticket. ============ Calculating dependencies... done!
