Mail-notification has been working for many months. Just upgraded to 2-26 and mail-notification can no longer write to keyring. Note: I log in to machine allan and execute ssh -Y ajglap mail-notification allan is amd64 ajglap is x86 both upgraded to 2-26 I believe it worked when just allan was upgraded, but fails consistently now that ajglap is upgraded. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log into allan (amd64) 2. Execute ssh -Y ajglap mail-notification 3. Actual Results: mail-notification cannot write to keyring Expected Results: mail-notification writes password to keyring so doesn't have to ask for it every time. There are two machines. When I pasted both emerge --info outputs, the comment was too long so am attaching them
Created attachment 207825 [details] emerge --info on allan
Created attachment 207827 [details] emerge --info on ajglap

Additional information: When mail notification is run directly on ajglap (i.e, when I am logged into ajglap), all is well. The trouble is when I log into allan and do ssh -Y ajglap mail-notification
Still valid with 5.4-r5?
(In reply to comment #5) > Still valid with 5.4-r5? Yes when ssh'ed from allan, ajglap can't save to keyring. When run locally, it doesn't even ask (I guess it is already in the keyring).
+*mail-notification-5.4-r6 (06 Oct 2012) + + 06 Oct 2012; Pacho Ramos <pacho@gentoo.org> +mail-notification-5.4-r6.ebuild, + metadata.xml: + Revision bump syncing with fedora, it includes a snapshot incorporating most + of the fixes have been around different distributions for years, also port it + to gtk3, gmime-2.6 and stop using glade. It's also compatible with Gnome3. + Taken maintainership also. + Recheck with that version on a new created user account please
(In reply to comment #7) > Recheck with that version on a new created user account please Previously I tested with allan (amd64 desktop) --> ajglap (~amd64 laptop). I have a new install newlap (~amd64 laptop) which is now running gnome3. I have stoped updating ajglap so can't install new mail-notification there. I did just now test from ajglap --> newlap and it works great! thanks.
