Hello there, I aware gentoo usually ships only pro versions of ROOT, but this one seems to be an exception: it is currently recommended by the ROOT team: http://root.cern.ch/drupal/content/downloading-root I'm personally highly interested in TTree and TFormula improvements, so I adapted patches from 5.24.00. I tested it on two boxes (Athlon-XP and Atom N270) though I can't test every possible ROOT feature of course. It compiles with the latest kerberos natively (no patch is needed as in bug #280197), it compiles and runs with --as-needed in the LDFLAGS, but it still is affected by bug #287178 from my experience.
