net-misc/youtube-dl-2009.08.09 is in the tree for more than on month. Please consider marking it stable. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
I second that the old version stopped working; now I use 2009.09.13 and it seems just fine (on amd64)
Just realized that there is a tippppo. Must be net-misc/youtube-dl-2009.09.08 Anyway this really runs smoothly on my amd64 as well. Also I don't have problems running it on my other two x86.
My thought about this: Let's just un-keyword it. The old version apparently no longer works, so why would it be better to have it marked as stable? Many people are using newer versions without issues. I'd rather mask 2008.03.22, and unmask the newer versions when they seem to work. There are a lot of options to youtube-dl I do not know about, maybe that's why testing it takes a while. But this way the tool is just unusable for its job, and people who like it will unmask it anyway.
This version doesn't work anymore, have a look at #286366, the newer version will be stabled there.
I guess you are talking about Bug 292989
