Description Brian Wingenroth 2009-09-15 22:09:54 UTC
sys-cluster/heartbeat-2.0.7-r2 builds ok, but segfaults at runtime if sys-devel/libtool-2.2.6a is present.

Workaround: When I downgrade libtool to sys-devel/libtool-1.5.26 everything works fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
# emerge -Dav heartbeat libtool

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] sys-devel/libtool-2.2.6a  USE="-test -vanilla" 0 kB
[ebuild   R   ] sys-cluster/heartbeat-2.0.7-r2  USE="-doc -ldirectord -management -snmp" 0 kB

Total: 2 packages (2 reinstalls), Size of downloads: 0 kB
Actual Results:
# /etc/init.d/heartbeat start
 * Caching service dependencies ...                                                                                                         [ ok ]
 * Starting heartbeat ...

# /etc/init.d/heartbeat status
 * status:  stopped
/etc/init.d/heartbeat: line 69:  5259 Segmentation fault      /usr/lib/heartbeat/heartbeat -s

Expected Results:
As a workaround, if I mask >sys-devel/libtool-1.5.26 everything works as expected.

Did you revdep-rebuild after emerging libtool 2 ?
Major libltdl version has changed.

Yes, revdep-rebuild was run. It rebuilds heartbeat. If revdep-rebuild isn't run, the error one gets upon starting heartbeat is that heartbeat can't load libtdl.

After revdep-rebuild, which rebuilds heartbeat, starting heartbeat leads to the segmentation fault.
