Description Martin R. Ehmsen 2009-09-15 06:41:47 UTC
After upgrading to sys-fs/udev-145-r1 it starts to generate the error messages like:
Sep 15 07:53:57 atom udevd[28787]: error getting buffer for inotify
in the syslog at an incredible rate (my syslog has grown to approximately 400 MB in just under 24 hours).
Inotify is included in the kernel:
CONFIG_INOTIFY=y
CONFIG_INOTIFY_USER=y
and sys-fs/inotify-tools is installed.
The error started occuring after upgrading from udev-141.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Comment 1 Martin R. Ehmsen 2009-09-15 06:42:51 UTC
I seems someone else is also getting the same error-message:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281338
Comment 2 Martin R. Ehmsen 2009-09-16 07:29:54 UTC
After upgrading to 2.6.31-gentoo the problem seems to have gone away.
Comment 3 Martin R. Ehmsen 2009-09-23 05:49:58 UTC
The problem is back, so upgrading to 2.6.31-gentoo haven't solved the problem.

Marking this as a duplicate of a more recent bug, hope, you don't mind.
