Description rd 2009-09-04 15:06:50 UTC
After switching to a tty, switching back to xorg results in a black screen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Strg-Alt-F2
2.Strg-Alt-F7 (where xorg runs)

Actual Results:
Screen stays black.

Expected Results:
Screen shows normal xorg surface.

I'm using xfce-base/xfce4-meta-4.6.1 as windowmanager

It happend the first time after emerge -veuND world.
I think maybe it's a problem with the intel - driver, because before i used VIDEO_CARDS="vesa".

Please ask for other system output.

Comment 1 rd 2009-09-04 16:16:49 UTC
I emerged x11-base/xorg-server-1.5.3-r6 and media-libs/mesa-7.3-r1 with VIDEO_CARDS="vesa". It DIDN'T solved the problem. It seems to be the wrong approach.

Please attach your xorg.conf, your Xorg.0.log and the full output of dmesg.

Thanks

xorg.conf

I had to generate a new xorg.conf. Maybe it was deleted by emerge -veuND world . The problem is still the same.

You're missing the kernel DRM i915 driver. Please enable it, there's a good chance it might help solve your problems.

Thanks
