I can merge it with: USE="-* GTK" emerge libdv so does that mean one of the flags I have is causing the issue?

Got weird errors on the bug tracking, which means I added the attachment of the log twice, and mails haven't been sent out... I think
Could you try with the patch commented out Additionally the USE-flags that should be the only ones to matter is gtk,sdl,xv and debug. So trying without each on of them would be the next step if removing the patch doesn't solve it PS. Why did this comment disappear after posting
This bug is suspiously similar to bug 29070. Just adding this comment so I can track both easily. Looks like the only thing in common is sdl. Still digging.
