Since upgrade to 1.6.3 (+x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.8.1) a logout of a KDE 3.5.10 sessions results into :

Output from "startx 2>&1| tee -a log" at the console (straight X11 session of xinitrc + mwm starts fine, normal quitting with the mwm menue).
