Description Paul Moore 2003-09-09 13:12:41 UTC
Xemacs fails to emerge with the error:

'emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "virtual/xemacs".'

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge xemacs
2.
3.

Actual Results:
sockpuppet root # emerge -p app-editors/xemacs

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies -
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "virtual/xemacs".

!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.

Expected Results:
It should have configured, make, make install'd.

sockpuppet root # emerge info

Just talked with Paul. The other bug says to remove entries from /var/cache/edb/virtuals file, but his virtuals file doesn't have xemacs anywhere in it, so the solution doesn't apply.
Comment 3 Aron Griffis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-12 09:29:37 UTC
All set Paul. xemacs was missing from /usr/portage/profiles/default-alpha-1.4/virtuals (it was recently added to x86, apparently)
