Description Carlos Rivera 2009-08-25 22:03:39 UTC
If I try to emerge ipsec-tools 0.7.2, I get an error message when it tries to compile when using both the stable 2.6.27 headers and the 2.6.30-r4 kernel.

The only way to emerge ipsec-tools is to emerge 2.6.30 kernel headers before trying to emerge ipsec-tools. Most likely ipsec-tools will not compile if you have a different kernel and headers versions in the system.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge both stable 2.6.27 kernel headers and 2.6.30-r4 linux kernel
2. emerge ipsec-tools
3. Workaround: emerge 2.6.30 linux headers first, then do emerge ipsec-tools again

Expected Results:
ipsec-tools sucessufully compiled.

Please STOP selecting the packages website as the Bugzilla component, or I will block your account. This is the 3rd bug from you today, and you have failed to follow instructions.

The list of products is very clear:
...
Gentoo Infrastructure - For bugs or feature requests related to Gentoo's Infrastructure.
...
Gentoo Linux - The Gentoo Linux Distribution - Ebuilds and System related issues. If you're unsure where your bugs go, then file them here.
...

And the "If you're unsure where your bugs go, then file them here." is in large red text.

Despite Carlos's misuse of the bugzilla the bug is real (missing <asm/swab.h>). Why linux-headers-2.6.30 are still unstable whereas gentoo-sources-2.6.30 are?
