See subject, firefox-3.5.2 needs swift stabilization due to security and hardened issues.
Stabilize the security supported firefox-3.0.x bump that fixes security issues?
So >=x11-libs/gtk+-2.16.0 is no issue with stable gnome?
Perhaps it's fine. Needs testing I can't conduct before some unknown time (8-24 hours).
(In reply to comment #2) > So >=x11-libs/gtk+-2.16.0 is no issue with stable gnome? > I'm currently using all liferea-1.6.0 deps with stable gnome. No issue so far.. I think it's time to stabilize it up.
Maybe this should be done with bug 281427 Also, I am using gtk+-2.16 with gnome 2.24 in one of my systems without problems, but I haven't tested any gtk+ app, then, maybe would be safer to do it with 2.26 stabilization :-/

Reminder: epiphany-extensions-2.26 needs to be stabilized in tandem
Hello arches, after you have gtk+-2.16 stabilized in bug 285586, please stabilize the following to enable xulrunner-1.9.1 compatibility, so that things don't break once you get to bug 280393 (firefox 3.5): www-client/epiphany-2.26.3-r1 www-client/epiphany-extensions-2.26.1 I presume you'd be testing that these still work fine with xulrunner-1.9.0.x at first. When you are testing bug 280393 (xulrunner-1.9.1.x and firefox-3.5) in the future, please try to test that your latest stable epiphany-2.26 still works afterwards (might need rebuilds though) against xulrunner-1.9.1 too when it gets stabled. During the stabilization of this now (against xul-1.9.0 or otherwise), in addition to your normal tests, please also ensure that nsplugins - such as adobe-flash or swfdec-mozilla - remain available to epiphany. ppc64, you don't have epiphany-extensions, so you can skip that (or you can consider ~ppc64'ing it).
