Hi arches, please do your magic with =dev-libs/libxml-1.8.17-r3 alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 mips ppc ppc64 sh sparc x86 In the mips case due to libxml depending on >=sys-libs/ncurses-5.2 which is not stable, feel free to leave it ~arch The stabilization is necessary to allow it compile with newer glibc, gcc and other fixes.
Removing mips since they don't do stable keywords anymore
Created attachment 200269 [details] AMD64-build.log AMD64 will not keyword at this time, the software failed to compile. Build log attached.
Created attachment 200283 [details] emerge --info on amd64 I can't reproduce the build failure, attached is and amd64 box emerge --info output
ppc stable

Please run revdep-rebuild and perhaps lafilefixer. If the problem persists, file a new bug report instead of abusing this one for an unrelated issue.
(In reply to comment #5) > If the problem persists, file a new bug report instead of abusing this one > for an unrelated issue. And probably entirely redundantly: When you do file that bug report, make it block this one. Stable for HPPA.
Hold your horses! There seems to be a security bug open so a newer libxml has to be shipped anyway.
Are you talking about dev-libs/libxml2 ? If so, remember that many packages has DEPEND and RDEPEND on dev-libs/libxml
No, see bug 280617
(In reply to comment #9) > No, see bug 280617 That's a different package in the tree. However I'm not sure what the history is behind libxml and libxml2, and if there is any potential for libxml to have libxml2 security bugs if the latter is an evolution of the former.
Whoops, spoke before checking the libxml2 security/stabilization bug. I believe we should track libxml security stabilization in a separate bug from 280617 - probably right this one here reshuffled (retitled with the CVE numbers -r4 fixes, assigned to security@, etc)
Stable on alpha.
ppc64 done
x86 stable
amd64 stable
arm/ia64/sh/sparc stable, closing
