Attached is a new ebuild for libsofthsm - http://trac.opendnssec.org/wiki/SoftHSM

libsofthsm provides a software crypto token with a PKCS #11 interface, which will be used for the opendnssec.org DNSSEC toolkit (and should be usable by any other application which uses PKCS #11, at least in theory).

Tested on 2008.0/amd64

There is a warning about embedded -rpath in the /usr/bin/softhsm binary, but also a statement that it was stripped out, so I'm uncertain if this is a big problem or not.

Comments on this would be welcome, if there are problems that prevent inclusion of this version I will work with upstream to resolve. Thanks.

manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The 
sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to 
commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry 
into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this 
and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)
