Description Eric Frederich 2009-07-17 12:46:37 UTC
CCSM won't save settings made if you're using libcompizconfig-0.8.2-r2.
0.8.2-r2 will save messed up files in ~/.config/compiz/compizconfig

Reverting to 0.8.2 solves this problem.

See http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-779093.html

Suggest removing or masking 0.8.2-r2 making 0.8.2 the latest one available.

Reproducible: Always

Woouah !!!
I just added dbus and hald USE in my make.conf and since the rebuild no ccsm was working, thank to this post it works again :-)

I can confirm this happening. Upgrading to 0.8.2-r2 made window decorations disappear and upon further inspection, ccsm didn't have any settings enabled and any changes weren't saved. I had to downgrade to 0.8.2 as suggested in this bug report and re-configure everything in ccsm. Not cool.

(running ~amd64 and nvidia kernel module in xorg)

Reported this bug from my amd64 machine but now had the same problem with my x86 machine. Downgrading to 0.8.2 fixed it there as well.

This was fixed some time ago and 0.8.2* is no longer in the tree.
