A new version of net-misc/adzapper is available. Currently in tree: net-misc/adzapper-20080508 Available upstream: net-misc/adzapper-20090301 I'll try whether a simple version bump works and report here. Reproducible: Always
Upstream tarball is not gzipped although the file name has .gz suffix. Please contact upstream and ask them to fix this.
Contacted upstream and requested a fix.
I found some more QA issues regarding this ebuild (installs all executable scripts into /etc/adzapper). I'll update the ebuild to behave better and also notify the user of the changed settings etc.
It is ok having the scripts installed into /etc as user modifications are done directly in one of them. See also: http://adzapper.sourceforge.net/#custom So putting them in /etc makes sure customizations aren't overwritten when doing an update. So we're finally just waiting for the answer regarding an updated .tar.gz file.

Uhm, yes, I think you're probably right ;-) Shame on me - must have been very tired back then when I suggested to wait ;-) So it should just work by adding your changes - I'll try this later today.
