Description Daniel S Dantas 2003-09-02 11:00:38 UTC
I am trying to do a stage 1 install on an Athlon XP with 1.4 LiveCD. When
running bootstrap.sh, I get the following error.

>>> emerge (3 of 6) sys-devel/gcc-3.2.3-r1 to /
>>> Downloading
http://www.trl.ibm.com/projects/security/ssp/gcc3_2_2/protector-3.2.2-8.tar.gz

!!! Couldn't download protector-3.2.2-8.tar.gz. Aborting.

I looked at the www.trl.ibm.com webpage and they have moved the project to
www.research.ibm.com/trl/projects/security/ssp/

Even on that new page, they only seem to have protector-3.2.2-10, not the
requested protector-3.2.2-8

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run stage 1 install's bootstrap.sh
2.
3.

Bug and potential fixes are discussed at http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=77547
Comment 3 Daniel S Dantas 2003-09-03 16:45:54 UTC
I'm upgrading this to blocker because AFAIK, this bug causes ALL stage 1 installs to fail. If that isn't blocking, I'm not sure what is. :-)
Comment 4 Daniel S Dantas 2003-09-03 20:04:03 UTC
The problem has been fixed. Someone must have changed the ebuild or put the file back into the expected package location. Thanks!!
