Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-11 12:15:17 UTC
I'm reporting this bug because the package in summary fails to build when forcing --as-needed on through spec files (check out http://blog.flameeyes.eu/2008/11/14/problems-and-mitigation-strategies-for-as-needed for details).

Please note that this bug _might_ apply to -Wl,--as-needed in LDFLAGS as well; in both cases it should be fixed. Also, if this is due to the package in question not respecting user-defined LDFLAGS, you should get to fix that too.

Check the attached build log.

Thanks,
Diego

eventwatcher-0.4.3-kde4.patch

This patch updates the content on the admin directory to the one that comes with kdelibs-3.5.10

eventwatcher-0.4.3.ebuild.patch

Change the ebuild in order to apply the kde4 patch and run `make -f admin/Makefile.common` to regenerate the build scripts.

Gha! Don't do it that way! The eclass already supports updating the admindir with a downloaded tarball of the new one.

That is a very well hidden feature! It took me a while to figure out how it works even after your tip. Anyway, updated ebuild patch will follow soon.
