Description Mounir Lamouri (volkmar) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-03 10:08:57 UTC
Hi arch teams,

Opal version bump leads to dropped keywords:
alpha amd64 hppa ia64 ppc64 sparc

At least, you will have to keyword:
net-libs/ptlib
=net-libs/opal/opal-3.6.2

Probably other ebuilds/packages depending on the arch.

Thanks :)

Actually, ekiga has also dropped some keywords:
alpha amd64 hppa ia64 ppc64 sparc (same as opal dropped)

To summary, can you keyword:
net-libs/ptlib
=net-libs/opal-3.6.2
=net-voip/ekiga-3.2.4

And probably some ebuilds/packages needed, depending on your arch.

Thanks :)

Keyworded these on alpha:

dev-libs/ilbc-rfc3951
ptlib/ptlib-2.6.2
net-libs/opal-3.6.2
net-dialup/capi4k-utils-20050718-r3
net-voip/ekiga-3.2.4
Comment 3 Mounir Lamouri (volkmar) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-15 10:10:51 UTC
Updating the list of keyword request after Tobias comment.

For every listed keywords:
net-libs/ptlib-2.6.2
net-libs/opal-3.6.2
net-voip/ekiga-3.2.4

For some keywords:
dev-libs/ilbc-rfc3951-0-r1 ia64 sparc
net-dialup/capi4k-utils-20050718-r3 hppa ia64 ppc64 sparc

Again, sorry for the work load.
Other keywording are probably needed for some arch.

Thanks

I just compiled this on ~amd64, works perfectly.

Until these packages are keyworded ~amd64, you can still emerge ekiga by manually adding ~amd64 to the KEYWORDS variable in the ebuilds of

net-libs/ptlib-2.6.2
net-libs/opal-3.6.2
net-voip/ekiga-3.2.4

and the emerging with the --digest option, which forces emerge to ignore the fact that these ebuilds are not the original ones from portage.

Afterwards add net-voip/ekiga-3.2.4 to your /etc/portage/profile/package.provided, otherwise it will get downgraded to ekiga-2.0.12 the next time you sync and update with emerge.

This is a dirty hack I know, but ekiga 3 is so much better than ekiga 2 that I can live with it :).

Thanks Mounir for your work on ekiga!

(also did you know a new version 3.2.5 is out?)

There is no necessity to edit ebuilds, just add to /etc/portage/package.keywords/monolithic.keywords this:
# ekiga
=net-voip/ekiga-3.2.4 **
=net-libs/opal-3.6.2 **
=net-libs/ptlib-2.6.2 **
net-libs/libsrtp

Yes that's better/cleaner Nikoli, thanks for teaching me.

amd64 keyword added

opal-3.6.4-r1 is now depending on celt, so alpha keyword has been dropped again.
celt has a test suite so it would be easy to rekeyword it.

For other arch, you will have to keyword celt in addition of the other packages.

(Re)keyworded celt and opal.

~ia64/~sparc done
Comment 11 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-20 18:56:58 UTC
ekiga keywording was dropped for HPPA because GNOME 1) no longer required it anyway and because 2) HPPA has dropped most GNOME desktop keywording.

marked ~ppc64
