Despite the version bump, bug #267749 il still present: configure script is not able to detect correctly openssl libraries. It seems to be gentoo-specific; the same sources compile fine (same configure options of the ebuild) on ubuntu jaunty (x86). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: for info, see bug #267749
I just test-installed this version of lynx successfully on my ~amd64 machine with USE="-gnutls openssl". As you didn't provide your "emerge --info" nor any build.log file of the failed emerge I gonna mark this bug as WORKSFORME. Feel free to reopen this bug if you provide the missing information.

My idea was to spare the bug database, since i referenced bug #267749 (same emerge --info, same bug). In any case, I'm posting the USE="-gnutls openssl" ebuild.log
Created attachment 196797 [details] lynx ebuild This log was obtained with USE="-gnutls openssl" emerge -1v lynx. The error is probaly due to USE=kerberos in openssl. See bug #267749 for details (specially comment #19)
oops, forgot to reopen
Same bug so no need to open a seperate bug report for just a slightly higher version of lynx... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 267749 ***
