xorg-server-1.5* is stable now, so for first-time installers (or people just checking the normal config page), xorg-config.xml is essentially useless, yielding an unusable X session which many resort to rebooting from, only to be forced to consult IRC or the forums for a solution. Need to add chapter 2 of... http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/xorg-server-1.5-upgrade-guide.xml ...around the beginning of xorg-config.xml's own chapter 2 (with a note to /etc/init.d/hald start && rc-update add hald default), update (or remove?) some of the xorg.conf information (Driver "keyboard" & "mouse", etc.), update make.conf example ("keyboard" & "mouse", again), and update emerge -pv xorg-server example output ("keyboard" & "mouse", version).
