"Geoclue is a modular geoinformation service built on top of the D-Bus messaging system. The goal of the Geoclue project is to make creating location-aware applications as simple as possible.

Geoclue is Free Software, licensed under GNU LGPL. It is developed for Linux, but should be portable to any platform that uses D-Bus."

Devel versions of empathy have geoclue support to publish current location.

Thanks for your ebuild!  You might find that it will get more exposure if you get it included in project sunrise [1], which will give you a chance to look after and maintain it yourself...

I committed a git-snapshot of version 0.12.0 with all patches up to 20110306 to portage. This bug is resolved.
