Description Michael Lorant 2009-06-20 08:09:21 UTC
The following lines were removed from the genkernel.conf.

# Add new kernel to grub?
# BOOTLOADER="grub"

From looking at the repository it seems that at some point grub was removed but later restored. However the config file was not reverted. See this commit log:

http://git.wolf31o2.org/gitweb/?p=projs/genkernel.git;a=commitdiff;h=6e47f147d85bd0d95ad76912e508e56de4dabc7b

genkernel --help shows --bootloader=grub is still usable so that is a temporary workaround i'm using but I think the config file should be reverted.

Reproducible: Always

Sounds like a reasonable theory to me, probably genkernel maintainers will agree that was an oversight. Thanks for the report.
Comment 2 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-28 19:43:45 UTC
Yes, this was an oversight. It's been restored. However, you could have always added the line yourself. All that was removed previously was a commented out example line.

Both the latest stable release as well as the code on master in Git do contain the lines on BOOTLOADER. Closing as fixed.
