When attempting to update drivers for xorg-1.6.1-901-r3, attempts to update nvidia-drivers-172.14.18 resulted in an attempted downgrade of xorg-server to 1.5.3-r3. I am currently running with xorg-server-1.6.1.901-r3 and nvidia-drivers-173.14.18-r1 after using the ebuild. So far, so good.
nvidia-drivers-96.43.11 also works with new xorg-server so dependency in xorg-server ebuild >=nvidia-drivers-173.14.18 is not valid.
Please attach unified diffs (diff -u) when you did changes to an ebuild. That would be much more handy for our devs.
