I slightly improvided ebuild for dev-util/qgit for better usability.

To run qgit, I have to type qgit4.

This is misleading for the package name is only qgit. Ebuild should create a 'qgit' symlink in /usr/bin.

It would indeed be very useful if these straightforward enhancements were implemented. I was confused at first after emerging it, because there was no desktop entry.
