Thanks very much! I didn't knew about existence about package perl-core/IO.. :-( After installing dev-perl/MIME-tools-5.427 and perl-core/IO-1.23.01, MailScanner workings again. The qustion is now: Should there be a dependency in the MailScanner ebuild for >=perl-core/IO-1.23.01 if >dev-perl/MIME-tools-5.420 is installed ?? I can create a patch if needed.
I also had this problem. Fixed it with emerging perl-core/IO, and got another problem: I can not stop MailScanner cleanly: # /etc/init.d/MailScanner stop * Stopping MailScanner... * MailScanner: caught SIGTERM, aborting # ps -e PID TTY TIME CMD 1 ? 00:00:01 init 17649 ? 00:00:00 syslog-ng 17664 ? 00:00:00 sendmail 17667 ? 00:00:00 sendmail ... MailScanner has been stopped, but Sendmail (which has been started by MailScanner init script) runs! So I can not start MailScanner again: # /etc/init.d/MailScanner start * WARNING: MailScanner has already been started And this is a problem, because MailScanner has default option "Restart every = 7200" (to avoid resource leaks). As a temporary workaround I removed that option from config file...
