I try to install webmin, but I have this error: >>> Emerging (1 of 1) app-admin/webmin-1.470 * webmin-1.470.tar.gz RMD160 SHA1 SHA256 size ;-) ... [ ok ] * checking ebuild checksums ;-) ... Ugh, that's a naughty one. Does it install when the iptables modules are loaded?
This don't help. Emerge dies with same error.
I got about the same one: VERSION 1.0 FORMAT: F - Function called FORMAT: S - Access Status FORMAT: P - Path as passed to function FORMAT: A - Absolute Path (not canonical) FORMAT: R - Canonical Path FORMAT: C - Command Line F: open_wr S: deny P: /lib/modules/2.6.27-gentoo-r8/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.ko A: /lib/modules/2.6.27-gentoo-r8/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.ko R: /lib/modules/2.6.27-gentoo-r8/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.ko C: /sbin/modprobe ip_tables For me, doing 'modprobe ip_tables' as root and then trying to emerge webmin-1.470 again worked.
The problem persists in webmin-1.480 VERSION 1.0 FORMAT: F - Function called FORMAT: S - Access Status FORMAT: P - Path as passed to function FORMAT: A - Absolute Path (not canonical) FORMAT: R - Canonical Path FORMAT: C - Command Line F: open_wr S: deny P: /lib/modules/2.6.26-gentoo-r4/kernel/net/netfilter/x_tables.ko A: /lib/modules/2.6.26-gentoo-r4/kernel/net/netfilter/x_tables.ko R: /lib/modules/2.6.26-gentoo-r4/kernel/net/netfilter/x_tables.ko C: /sbin/modprobe ip_tables -q F: open_wr S: deny P: /lib/modules/2.6.26-gentoo-r4/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.ko A: /lib/modules/2.6.26-gentoo-r4/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.ko R: /lib/modules/2.6.26-gentoo-r4/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.ko C: /sbin/modprobe ip_tables -q
Hi there, doing: /sbin/modprobe ip_tables That the trick for me, if you still get the same error, try to rmmod and modprobe it again. This was tested on app-admin/webmin-1.480 version. best Regards
This issue persist in app-admin/webmin-1.490 ? Which use flags did you use? emerge --info output please

Ok guys, I've added a little fix to this issue, please test to check everything is working fine :)
Thanks Víctor, I've just compiled v1.490 without errors and without modprobe :)
(In reply to comment #8) > Ok guys, I've added a little fix to this issue, please test to check everything > is working fine :) > Hi, had to add "addpredict /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter" to function src_install() to make it work on my machine. Joerg
Updated ebuild to use addpredict /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/net to cover both cases. Please test
(In reply to comment #11) > Updated ebuild to use addpredict /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/net to cover > both cases. > Please test Now it works here too.
OK, this seems to be fixed.
