2. # /etc/init.d/bluetooth start
3. $ kdebluetooth
4. Try to open in konqueror bluetooth:/ or click on kdebluetooth icon and try to do anything

Actual Results:
bluetooth protocol crashes and it is not possible to get files from outside

Please post your "emerge --info".
Which version of kdebluetooth do you have installed?
Comment 2 Piotr 2009-04-26 10:59:30 UTC
I have this problem too. On dbus-1.2.3-r1 everything works fine.
Comment 3 Piotr 2009-04-26 14:15:08 UTC
This bug depends on bug #267201

Could you check if you get any errors like the ones in bug #267201 in your syslog?

Can you tell me where can i find log from syslog? If you tell me i will paste it ;)
Comment 7 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-27 19:13:27 UTC
It should be somewhere in /var/log, depending on the logger you use (usually /var/log/messages or /var/log/everything/current). Look for messages that look like 'Apr 23 14:03:02 axion dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules;'.

tail /var/log/messages|grep dbus

i have
Apr 27 21:53:40 Gentoo dhcdbd: message_handler: message handler not found under /com/redhat/dhcp/wlan0 for sub-path wlan0.dbus.get.interface_mtu

Over and over. Nothing else
Comment 9 Piotr 2009-04-28 16:47:06 UTC
I have. The errors are:

Apr 26 12:05:31 hurricane dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.21" (uid=1000 pid=3896 comm="kbluetooth ") interface="org.bluez.Manager" member="ListAdapters" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.bluez" (uid=0 pid=3855 comm="/usr/sbin/hcid -s -f /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf "))
Apr 26 12:09:46 hurricane dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.22" (uid=1000 pid=4037 comm="kio_bluetooth [kdeinit] bluetooth /tmp/ksocket-pio") interface="org.bluez.Manager" member="DefaultAdapter" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.bluez" (uid=0 pid=3855 comm="/usr/sbin/hcid -s -f /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf "))
Apr 26 12:10:07 hurricane dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.21" (uid=1000 pid=3896 comm="kbluetooth ") interface="org.bluez.Security" member="UnregisterDefaultPasskeyAgent" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.bluez" (uid=0 pid=3855 comm="/usr/sbin/hcid -s -f /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf "))
Comment 10 Ioannis Aslanidis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-11 12:10:34 UTC
<allow send_interface="org.bluez.*"/>
Comment 11 michel 2009-05-11 12:26:30 UTC
quick and dirty fix ...

edit your /etc/dbus-1/system.conf .. look for the line <deny send_type="method_call"/> and change it to <allow send_type="method_call"/>

enjoy!

Which one is better? When any of them will be in portage?

None. A bluez specific fix should go to /etc/dbus-1/system.d/bluetooth.conf - a file owned by either bluez or bluez-utils. Not that I have any idea what should go there and why it stopped working.
Comment 15 Piotr 2009-07-25 08:44:14 UTC
For those who still suffer from this bug:
I am not very familiar with dbus config files but I have created such thing which is probably not the prettiest solution but is much better than patch submitted here.
Thing which you must add to /etc/dbus-1/system.d/bluetooth.conf is:

<policy group="plugdev">
    <allow own="org.bluez"/>

    <allow send_path="/"/>
    <allow send_path="/org/bluez"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez" send_interface="org.bluez.Adapter"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez.*"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez.*"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez.Manager"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez.Manager"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez.Adapter"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez.Adapter"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez.Device"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez.Device"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez.Service"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez.Service"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez.Database"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez.Database"/>

    <allow send_destination="org.bluez.Security"/>
    <allow receive_sender="org.bluez.Security"/>
  </policy>

After adding this kbluetooth works fine for me although I haven't tested all of it's functions.
Comment 16 michel 2009-07-25 10:21:14 UTC
maybe you have to add following lines only to your bluetooth.conf .. should work too

 <policy group="users">
    <allow own="org.bluez"/>
    <allow send_destination="org.bluez"/>
    <allow send_interface="org.bluez.Agent"/>
  </policy>
Comment 17 Piotr 2009-07-26 14:50:55 UTC
This one is for sure also needed:
<allow send_destination="org.bluez" send_interface="org.bluez.Adapter"/>
It finally started working after I added this one.
Comment 18 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2009-07-28 17:56:32 UTC
Maybe this should block bug 250444
Comment 19 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-10-26 20:29:57 UTC
kdebluetooth isn't in tree anymore.
